Operation School Bell
This summer, I had the privilege of working with the Assistance League of Kansas City to help create a space for their Operation School Bell project. It’s an incredible cause. Community members donate gently used clothing to a re-store they run, and the proceeds from the store fund the purchase of new school clothes. These clothes are then brought to Operation School Bell in Gladstone, MO, where children in need, selected in partnership with local schools, are invited to shop for free. Many of these children come from challenging circumstances and may not even own basic items like a toothbrush. In addition to clothing, they also receive health kits and new tennis shoes. It’s such a heartwarming initiative, and I was truly honored to contribute by designing a welcoming environment for their waiting area. This is what making art for kids is all about.
Thank you Jason and Gavin for the assist on the installation!
