Are Fungi Fun Guys?

This was definitely a unique and wild illustration project! Eurofins Viagor reached out to me to create characters based on infectious diseases and transplant-related issues. They gave me three fungi from the Aspergillus, Mucorales, and Nocardia families to work with. I spent some time researching what these pathogens look like under a microscope, then had to reimagine them as "bad actors"—the villains the organization was trying to identify. I had a lot of fun turning these microscopic organisms into characters, and I can totally picture this crew roaming around on a microscope slide!
